Dr. Baker
Annette C. Baker,
Ph.D., HSP-P, is licensed as a psychologist and certified as a Health
Services Provider - Psychologist by the North Carolina Psychology
Board. The Board has also certified her practice, Baker Clinical
Services, PA.

A graduate of Duke
University, she holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a
Certificate of Women's Studies.
In San Diego, California,
she trained to become a psychologist by earning a Master of Arts
in Psychology degree and a Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology degree
from United States International University in San Diego, now known
as Alliant International University. She has received continuing
education hours from agencies such as the Association of Family
and Conciliation Courts, Atlanta Divorce Mediators, American Academy
of Forensic Psychology, American Psychological Association, North
Carolina Psychological Association, and Rorschach Workshops.
Her varied and extensive
professional experience includes clinical and administrative services
in both the private and public sector. She is a former psychological
consultant at the Murdoch Center Outreach Department, as well as
a former school psychologist at Granville County Schools. She has
conducted seminars and workshops at regional, national, and international
conferences.
Throughout her career,
Dr. Baker has been devoted to treating a variety of clients. Clients
of various cultural, racial, religious, and socio-economic backgrounds
seek treatment from her. She treats clients with depression, anxiety,
post traumatic stress disorder, panic attacks, eating disorders,
obsessive-compulsive behaviors, and developmental disabilities.
Her treatment approach is eclectic. Treatment modalities include
cognitive, behavorial, psychodynamic, and person-centered theories.
Her clients
confront a variety of issues: separation, divorce, remarriage, blended
families, sexuality, grief, sexual trauma, physical abuse, mental
abuse, and verbal abuse.
