brings a wealth of experience with children and adolescents to Baker
Clinical Services.

Known as "Ms.
Betsy" to her clients, she is providing individual out-patient
psychotherapy services for children, adolescents, adults, and their
families, with the majority of her clinical caseload consisting
of children and adolescents three (3) to eighteen (18) years of
age.
In addition to individual
work, Ms. Betsy conducts an on-going psychotherapy group for adolescents
with emotional and behavioral treatment needs. Her services to these
young clients often includes court appearances; on-going collaboration
and consultation with primary care physicians, pediatricians, psychiatrists,
and in-patient caregivers. She also works in collaboration with
school personnel and other community resources.
Ms. Betsy received
her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Nevada at
Reno in 1993. She was employed initially by the State of Nevada
and gained experience working with three different agencies located
in Reno, serving children of varying ages. At the Division of Child
and Family Services, she provided out-patient clinical interventions
to minors placed in the custodial care of the State while awaiting
residential placement to a treatment facility, foster home, or family
home.
Ms. Betsy's work with
the Early Childhood Mental Health Services began in 1994 and included
in-home clinical psychotherapy services to at-risk children ages
birth to six (6) years old and their families in individual and
group settings. These services also included court appearances,
program development, and training and supervision of student interns
seeking a Masters degree in Social Work.
In 1998, she transferred
her employment to Children's Behavioral Services. Out-patient clinical
services were provided to emotionally disturbed children, ages six(6)
to seventeen (17) and their families. These clinical services included
individual and group psychotherapy, and emergency evaluation of
children demonstrating suicidal or homicidal behaviors. Other services
provided at this location included biopsychosocial assessments;
court appearances; and coordination of treatment with the staff
child psychiatrist, various residential treatment programs, and
local in-patient facilities.
In 2002, Ms. Betsy
moved to North Carolina and began employment with Triangle Kids,
Inc. During the three years she practiced there, she provided out-patient
services to children and adolescents, inconjunction with their families,
in individual and group psychotherapy sessions. Her services also
included court appearances; ongoing consultation with primary care
physicians and psychiatrists; and collaboration with school personnel
and other community resources.
